Soaking up the Vitamin D

For my first post of my Travel and Style blog I thought it would be appropriate that I share my knowledge on the attire and lifestyles of Floridians. Being known as the sunshine state, where snow is never seen you can expect a lot of bright colors and prints from both females and males. Whether it is in bathing suit form or outerwear, you can expect to see color whenever you are down here. To prove my authenticity, I am currently sitting on St. Petersburg beach, under a cabana watching the Florida style. If you dare to wear black you will be hot, or even dare to cover your arms or legs you will be hot, safest bet is to wear anything summery or spring when it is above 70 degrees.

The season of winter is not as brutal as it is in any other state, barely dropping below 50 degrees you will see everybody start to whip out their coats and pants as if there were snow on the palm trees. Coming from New Hampshire where snow is a normal thing, Floridians are dressed in long sleeves and pants as I walk to class in my sundress and sandals.

The beach is an option year round. Whether it’s St. Pete beach, the famous Clearwater beach or any of the many beaches that spread across Florida people always crowd the sand trying to soak up the sun. The beach is what makes Florida one of the top tourists states in the country. Considering the ocean surrounds almost the entire state no matter where you are located you are never to far from the water.

The beach isn’t the only reason Florida is one of the top tourist attractions. Disney World is located in Orlando and is known all around the world and brings in thousands of people each day. If you don’t know what Disney World is you didn’t have a childhood or you reside under a rock.

By not having to worry about the cold, wearing comfortable clothing year round and always have something to do Florida should be on everyone’s vacation list.

Stay Warm!
